The Birth of my first Daughter!

I will tell you how my first born entered the world. It was a Monday after noon. My hubby and I were out doing some running around. We stopped at McDonalds for a bit to eat. When the contractions started. I informed my husband that we would be greeting a little one soon and how course he thought I was crying wolf. We had already had a few false labor episodes. Where we had to head off to the hospital only to sit there for a few hours for nothing.  I went home to relax and he left for his friends house to help him with somethings. By 10pm I had had enough and was ready to head to the hospital. By the time hubby picked me and I had seen the doctor. It was after 12pm so I could not get an epidural. Not that I wanted one. They offered me some Demerol (sp). The contractions were not bad so I thought I would have some and get rest. So I sent hubby home to have a shower, eat and get some rest. The rest did not happen and I was getting restless. I called hubby and told him to come back. I needed him. The nurse suggested that I get in the shower. It helped a bit. But not much. Around 6am I called my family to let them know that the doctor would be breaking my water around 8am. My Aunt was going to join us and witness the birth of our baby. She needed an hour to get there. The doctor came in after 8 and broke my water. When He did that he notice some marconeum(sp). So he had an I.V. started and called in a pediatrician with his team. They needed to make sure she didn't swallow any.  I don't remember much as I was sleeping in between contractions.  At about 12:30pm I had to pee. So the nurse got me up and to the bathroom. Thank god the door was open and the nurses was standing there. All of a sudden I had the urge to push. So up and back to bed I go. The nurse checked and I was fully dilated. Two big pushes and she was out at 1:08pm.  The pediatrician looked her over and gave her a clean bill of health. Thank God for that. She weighted 6lbs 10oz. 19 1\2 inches long.

How I started!

I'm new to the whole blogging thing. So please bare with me. I was getting sick of disposables. They leaked all the time. As soon as my LO peed I could smell it. GROSS! So I checked out cloth diapers. But was so over whelmed. I didn't know where to started. I have a friend that has been cloth diapering her LO from the start. So I asked her what she thought the best brands were and what she liked about them. But there was one problem. I live in  a city kinda in the middle of now where. The only place I know of that sold cloth diapers was Sears. The prices are WAY to high and the diapers are no good. Ordering on line is not something I like to do. Unless I have to. Until I found a lady that sells them out of her house. Yay!! I also found out that she does cloth diaper classes. Now all I had to do was convince my husband that this was the better way to go. It didn't take much. He is always worried about garbage going into the landfill. Plus it saves money in the long run. I have been doing for a few weeks now and love it. I will never go back. I just wish I had started sooner.
